i-Supervision.

I find that JKR is quite advance in implementing the IT application in their organization. One of their facilities provided that attract my attention is the i-Supervision.

Introduction

i-Supervision is an acronym for Internet Supervision. This is one of their flagship tool to aid JKR’s top management and project managers to remotely monitor the progress of the construction of any infrastructure projects (such as buildings, ports, airports & bridges, etc.) using cameras installed on project sites.

i-Supervision compliments SKALA, their project monitoring system.

How it works

The cameras installed at the project sites have built-in web-server. They capture the images (photos) of the physical progress. These images are then sent to their i-Supervision web server at our HQ in Kuala Lumpur using normal phone line and modems twice or three times a day.

The daily uploaded images can then be viewed individually or played back as a collective Time-lapse sequence to view the construction sequence of the project for any given month or time duration, thereby providing a valuable tool to review either the latest up-to-date progress or monthly progress at site.
